LeonidS - in response to Hello!

Sorry i forgot some issues:

1) In admin panel =>settings->membership levels section you should disable option

"Automatic profile confirmation without Confirmation Email".

2) Better disable "free mode" in the same section otherwise membership system will be hidden in site.

found # 1 under moderation settings is this correct i disabled this option but new members still get standard membership by default

and thanks see more alot i must have missed the first response sorry. does this option work for you?
