Thanks for the post. But I tried this same thing earlier in the week. It's not 100% for me. When I click on one of the "surviving" tabs, such as blogs, the other tabs that I deleted reappear.

Is that true for you?

On a related note: I also find that the photo tab is always empty and never displays any photo tags.
