Coming Soon page (pre-register)

Looking to build a 'coming soon' or 'pre register' page for a site launch,

The sort that you find on sites that are not live yet, but you enter name and email for notice of launch.

Other than using a HTML page with email list input fields, is there a basic way Im overlooking in Dolphin?

The D newsletter box doesn't allow to be copied to another page so cant use that on a blank page

join form could be adapted to most basic fields, which would then create members instead of just email interest. However, this would then allow those members access to other areas of the site that should be off limits. Menu could be set to not show, as can page blocks, but would mean quite a lot of custom work to hide things like profile / accounts access, all bottom menu links and so on. Could be done, but a little work.

Splash pages dont do it, as they are just for adding members.

Anyone know a simple way in D, other than creating an HTML page then redirecting?

Surprised there's no mod for this on market!

You could try something like LaunchRock.

If you search the net, you will free code to do this.  You can work on your site using the IP address or a subdomain or what have you so you can install modules and work on the layout of the site.  You point the domain for your site to the "coming soon" page with the javascript that displays the amount of days left, etc. and a sign-up form for people to leave emails for a notification of launch.  You will need a mass mailer programme of course to send out the emails when you are ready to open the site.

setting one up using a non dolphin script is easy and not what I was looking for ideally.

Im surprised this hasnt been made into a dolphin module so far... lots of splash pages out there, but no pre launch pages.

Would be great if we had one that instead of just name / email, it actually created a member automatically, but without then showing all the members links etc that a normal member would see.
