Membership upon joining

Hello,

I want all my new members to automatically become a Rookie member that I have made custom. How can I change it from them becoming a Standard member automatically upon join to becoming a Rookie member?

Thank you!

The easiest solution is to change the name of the standard membership to Rookie.

Search the forum, I seem to recall someone else wanting this done.

You have to edit the name in the database using phpMyAdmin or similar.  However, Deano has a module for that:

That might be the easiest solution and easy to change later.  Deano is dealing with a family emergency but stated he would handle payments.

I tried changing it in the phpMyAdmin but then the join would not work.

Thank you!

I have done this myself, so not sure where the issue lies.  I suggest getting Deano's tool to change the default membership upon join.

Renaming default memberships is potentially messy since it's not a matter of making one change... I've also done it and agree with GG that using Dean's module to configure the default membership through an admin panel is the smart solution.
