Online Members for Member Menu support forum. - part 2

Quote · 21 Dec 2012

Continued from my previous post from the end of the first part of this topic. http://www.boonex.com/forums/topic/Online-Members-for-Member-Menu-support-forum-.htm

Which chat are you wanting to start? The video chat or the instant messenger?

Your question about moving it to the right side also makes me think you also wanting a chat built into the online members mod. Which if that's the case, i will not do.

I just want it to open up the instant messenger i got the right side fixed thanks!  ( maybe an icon on the right of the username to chat ) that would let you still do both.

Let me know if you update this to include a chat link. As for now my members have chose to go back to cometchat. Thanks for all your work.

When i release updates, i always post an announcement of the update in the support forum.

Right now i am still looking for a way to do it. The code that call it is isolated in the profile page. So i cannot just call it from anywhere i want. So i first have to find a way to do it.

EDIT: Wait a minute.  You said cometchat. Not dolphin standard simple messenger? Then sorry. Its not going to happen. I cannot intergrate 3'rd party chats into a module that is sold to people that may not have it. Standard dolphin features only.

How to make this mod visible (or clickable) only to the members with avatars? Like some sort of incentive, upload/add an avatar = you get to see who is online? Maybe as an option in the admin settings, if I could ask for miracles? :)

 I will look into it as a option for the next version.

Can't wait. :)

I wonder. Could this be also re-made that it doesn't go in the member menu, but in a block on a homepage, or in a breadcrumb area (or whatever is called that Home-Home/Hello XY-Account/Logout panel, lol)? Eventually, into the quotes block - but I use quotes for the Translate button so in my case it wouldn't solve the thing...

I would like to display it on the homepage but only there, and to save on the resources if it's not shown anywhere else (or maybe on member.php and Profiles, too, since that's where EVO Wall is, too).

Well, another reason - maybe the resource saving wouldn't be so significant, after all, but this another reason is valid too - it is the space for simple messenger chat windows docked in the member menu.

Or, could be the place undocked from the member menu and placed on the page in a way Scroll To Top module does? This way, I could position it next to the Scroll to top icon...

...was thinking aloud. :)

I'm really really into this mod, it's a great addition to my site, and very much needed.

However, I'll join ZEDrwx request for a simple messenger chat option, since it's the main use for this feature in my site.

I suggest adding a "chat with..." box next to the online profiles avatar (maybe underneath the profile name). A box which you can type inside, and it opens a simple messenger chat box.
I mean something like the "chat..." option in the profile popup status (when you hover an avatar). That can't be too hard to implement, I know IBDW use this "chat" balloon  in their MegaProfile mod.

It might simplify the work.

Once you have this option in the mod, I'm the first in line to buy it... It's perfect in every other way.

One more question:
if I've set my site's avatars to show sex+age as an extra user info, will it be shown in the online members list?

 No. It will not.

Ok. Then is it possible to have the user menu popup when you hover a member's avatar in the list? I have extra member info set to show there which might be enough.
When trying over the demo site it seems the popup is opened at the top left of the screen, where you can hardly see it.

It already does. But as it turns out, it's not popping up at a accessible location. I have to look into why.

The pop up member info appears to be working fine on dolphin 7.0.9 and under.

The current versions of dolphin 7.1 changed the way the popup worked.  I am working on a fix. Should have a updated version released by the end of the day.

Version 2.0.5 released.

Fixed bug for dolphin 7.1.x that prevented user information popup when hovering over member icon from displaying properly. Under 7.1.x the popup was down at the bottom off the page and behind the member menu making it inaccessible. This has been corrected.

Bought, installed, customized- EXCELLENT!

No actual need for "chat" option now that the popup appears where it should.

I love this mod. One of the best purchases I've made. Thanks Dean!

Thanks. Glad you like it.

Dean, it seems filtering by age doesn't work... (shows all online members regardless of their age). Dolphin 7.1.1 with most of 7.1.2 patches on it, module version 2.0.5.

Quote · 23 Jun 2013

found the bug:

inside dbcsOnlineMembersModule.php, in function getMemberList(),

you have references ~ line 146:

$iMinAge = $aMemberOptions['minage'];

...

$iMaxAge = $aMemberOptions['maxage'];

Which should be "min_age" and "max_age" respectively.

A fix to that sets the results correctly according to the age filter.
