This is the support forum for the Places (Events + Business integrated) mod.

Version 2.1.2 released. (See patches/version 2.1.2 folder)

Added integration with my School module. (see readme_school_integration.txt).
 
Added the ability for Administrator to enable/disable Location Sub-Sections (Attractions, Accomodation, Hotels etc).

Complete Revamp of the Reviews functionality.

In my ongoing exercise of updating and improving the functionality of all modules, further adjustments have been made. Re-upload files and clear cache.

It would be interesting if there were more options box for the home. Currently there are few options, and the box 'recent locations' does not work at home. This box only works on the "Recent" page, ie the home locations almost have no attraction for members.

Please suggests the options you wish to see added. The convention in Dolphin is that only items with "public" viewing access are shown the homepage. Since lately, I have improved that functionality in my modules so that items with "members" viewing access are also shown if a logged in member is viewing the page.

Yes, the problem is the Dolphin set everything to public, being that most social networking sites (and niche social networks) are private, ie, with its pages restricted to members.

The better is that what you're doing, setting boxes Content visible to members, and not just to the public. Thanks!

I just added a City, then Services for that city. The language is other than English therefore when I click on the link to Services it cannot be display. I think there's something to do with the language/non-English characters.

Another error, I don't want to be a pain in the neck but when I try to click on ADD REVIEW, the DATABASE QUERY ERROR came up.

Plus, those options work on some computer but don't work on some, e.g you see the description but when you click on it you got a 404. 

I could not replicate your error. Ensure that you have the latest version of the mod. If you already have the latest version still re-download the latest copy and re-upload the files to your server.

You are asking for actual code adjustment to the module but I do not see where you have purchased this mod. Please PM me with proof of purchase and I will advise you of the code changes needed.

Removed references to modzzz that sometimes appear in the query string.

A few things to think about....

Changing Title

When changing a Location title that a member has given, an admin may want to change the URI to reflect this. This can be done in the 'modzzz_location_main' table (PHP admin).

If that uri is changed, the 'forum_uri' in the 'modzzz_location_forum' table will also need to be altered to reflect this; otherwise there's an error on the forum link.

Is there a possibility that the ablity to make these changes in the admin interface can be coded into a new release?

The Location Forum

While on the subject of the location forum, if we choose 'Post In Forum: Fans Only' browse access is not allowed to guests, nor members who are not fans.

Is there a way to allow View to All?

Location Accommodation

I have both the Places (Location) module and the Lodging module.

If someone posts an accommodation in a 'Place' (Location), it would be good if this could also show up in the Lodgings section.

ie:

It would be good if the accommodation added here:

How is it possible to show the locations in the "locations in my area" randomly? Now there's always the same order in the locations...

The same with the fans in unit.html? We would show that also randomly...

The built-in Site Map mechanism in dolphin is not designed in a manner to handle those sub-sections.

Since UPGRADE... 2.0.7 --->  2.1.3....   1 per 1...

The Google map and the buttons ACTION have disappeared...

Do you have any idea to solve these problems?

Is there a version 2.1.4?

There appears to be one in the patches folder but it seems to do the same as the previous patch:

Hello Jerome, is there a problem with your email? I have been sending you several emails for the last 3 weeks but no reply from you.  I made the payment (also 3 weeks ago) for the modifications I requested but I did not even get an acknowledgement for this payment.  Could you please check your email and get back to me as soon as possible? I am not and did not ask you to do the modifications right away, I just need a timeframe on when the mods will be done.  Thank you for understanding.

How can we change the rating of a location into a 10 points system instead of the 5 star rating?
So when someone reviews a location he can choose a number 1 - 10 and it shows for example a 7.9 rating in the pages.

 

How can we import the address and city in unit.html? We like to show there the adress also.
It's there on the location view page in the block "Where is this place?" but i can't find the shortcode to load the address and city in all the module files.

I also still like to know how to appear the locations randomly instead of the default newest to latest order. I placed a forum post in July but still no solution for me to do it...

Find : 'max' => 5,

Replace with : 'max' => 10,

Find :

Replace with :

        $aSql['order'] = " ORDER BY rand()";

The address for example "Kalverstraat 87"
The city for example "Amsterdam"

Both standalone. So one for the address and one for the city, because we use 2 single div's for the styling. 

 And when I do this are the stars inactive and it shows only the numbers or is it much more difficult?

Since the last upgrade I've discovered a problem when trying to access .... m/location/home/

Fatal error: Call to a member function addCss() on a non-object in ........ /modules/modzzz/location/classes/BxLocationPageMain.php on line 353

The change is for modifying the amount of stars use for rating. If you need additional adjustments to this functionality, you will have to get it done as a custom job.

The error is caused because you have integration with Events module turned on and you do not have the Events module installed. Go to the Admin settings and turn the integration off.

You're a star Jerome, one little uncheck and all is fine with the world.

I do have the Boonex Events module, but not to worry. Things look good from here now, thanks.

Find :

            'here_count' => $iFansHereCnt,

Just above, add :

            'address' => $aData['address1'],
            'city' => $aData['city'],

In modules\modzzz\location\templates\base\unit.html and modules\modzzz\location\templates\base\unit_admin.html

Add the keys __address__ and __city__ wherever you want these to display.

This may have something to do with the 'Location Review View' and 'Location Review Browse' pages.

In site admin: Settings > Membership Levels > Actions, I've just noticed _mma_Browse at the top of the actions list.

On further investigation in the sys_acl_actions table, 'Browse' (id '0') comes in after 'blog posts comments delete and edit' (id '124').

Looking at my SQL back-ups, I noticed this happened somewhere between June 28th and Dec 23rd, 2014. During that time I updated Location module.

In the website Admin > Page Builder drop-down list, 'Location Review View' and 'Location Review Browse' come in after 'Blog Post View' and 'Blog Home'.

My back-up compare of the table sys_page_compose_pages also confirms that 'modzzz_location_reviews_view' and 'modzzz_location_reviews_browse' appear after 'bx_blogs', 'bx_blogs_home' and some pages I added myself between the two back-up points.

Strangely, both 'modzzz_location_reviews_view' and 'modzzz_location_reviews_browse' entries are given the same order number in the database table.

@TravelNotes - The location module writes an entry to sys_acl_actions called 'location browse' (not 'Browse'). I would advise you to just delete that entry and clear cache.

Deleting the 'Browse' entry in sys_acl_actions table has resolved the _mma_Browse issue in Membership Levels Actions.

An Other Issue I found - in the sys_page_compose_pages table - was seperate entries of modzzz_location_reviews_view and modzzz_location_reviews_browse with the same order number.

Any ideas on that one?

 I don't think that has any significant effect.

I'll have to add some reviews and see what happens where, I guess.

As mentioned in the Members Levels - Actions thread, this action makes member profiles unviewable to non-members. 'Browse' added back for the moment, until we can find out where it came; especially as there's already a view profiles entry.

I am still concerned about the recently added modzzz_location_reviews_view and modzzz_location_reviews_browse entries in 'sys_page_compose_pages' table (with the same id) and wonder if somewhere this is all related?

What's the difference between Browse and View?
