404 error when new member joins site

Hi I'm new to Dolphin and have been looking through the forums for a while for anyone who has experienced this issue but haven't had much luck.

When a new user clicks the join button at the bottom of join.php on my site the page returns 'HTTP 404 Not Found', despite creating the user and notifying via email.

I'm unsure what's going on here so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure there's a .htaccess file in the root directory of your installation.

Thanks for the reply Magnussoft.

I currently have the .htaccess file in the root directory of my site.  I've followed a few other threads and made some modifications to improve the overall site load time.  I've attached a copy of this for easy reference.  Is there a particular line which might be a game changer?

Any help is greatly appreciated.
