A mod that will show recent activity or comments?

I'm looking for a way to display the latest comments or maybe even a configurable recent activity display.  It's always nice to have stuff on the frontpage that projects the community as active.

Anyone seen a nice mod that can do something along this line? Maybe there's something already in dolphin that can do at least the latest comments?

On my site, I have a simple block that will display the most recent unanswered post.
