Banners not working

Greetings all:

Uploaded banner.gif....it is there.

But when I try to make Dolphin recognize the banner .... it does not show it. Although each time in Admin, that I click for a preview....it changes the clicks per view accordingly.

Help please.

Thanks.

prav had some input on another post...

"I think you want to place it in the profile description field? If so edit the file templates/base/scripts/BxBaseProfileview.php

and there will be codes for profile page.

edit it."

What is the code that we are looking to edit, what is the edit and why?

But if you have uploaded the gif to the banner directory and added the correct URL with the CHMOD correct, why doesn't the banner show?

Ok....it is showing up now on all pages at top...but a blank image with red X....ugh.

Also...when you click on the X or blank white banner....its sends you on to the website.

Any suggestions on what to re-check?

I created 728 x 90 leaderboard....should I adjust this size? Is that the problem?

Check whether the banner is available through the link you have provided in admin banner settings.

Yes I can open it in the URL that was specified in the Admin banner setttings.

The code entered into the HTML box is:

<A HREF="http://www.moveamillionmilesforryanhall.com/"><IMG SRC="/media/images/banners/ryanhall.gif" border=0 width=728 height=90 ></a>

Check whether the banner is available through the link you have provided in admin banner settings.

Ok....so I figured the simple banner.gif not loading dilemma....

Not sure if this applies if you are in root directory; I have v6.1.1 installed in folder.

So when including the html in the Admin banner box....you must include the complete url:

Example:

This

<A HREF="http://www.moveamillionmilesforryanhall.com/"><IMG SRC="http://www.mysite.com/community/media/images/banners/ryanhall.gif" border=0 width=728 height=90 ></a>

Not this

<A HREF="http://www.moveamillionmilesforryanhall.com/"><IMG SRC="community/media/images/banners/ryanhall.gif" border=0 width=728 height=90 ></a>

Hope this helps anyone else.....
