Changes from 6 to 7

Hi Everyone,

I am trying to set up my new website but since the new dolphin release i have lost myself in the software. I am unable to find the classifieds section and everything has moved around and changed on Dolphin 7.

I would like to add listings to my site, can anyone tell me if this feature is available?

Has anyone done anything like this?

I look forward to any help, advice or links.

Thank you

Maria

Hi,

I did a new install as this is for a different site. I found the problem, i just had to uninstall the module and reinstall it. Experience is everything!

Since you were kind enough to respond maybe you can give me some advice on putting the classifieds catagories on the index page as there is no block available. Does this mean i have to edit the php? I am worried about editing as i may mess the whole thing up and its working so smoothly at the moment.

Thanks

Maria

Hi Marie - it is just really hard to see.  I went through this, as did several others here.  On admin panel module/ads - there is a second menu bar next to the "manage categories form" text - the tab for category manager is there.

Thanks Rob.

I managed to set it all up ok, my issue is now showing all of these categories on the index page. There is no block which allows me to do this and i was wondering if there is another way it can be done via the back end or if i have to edit the php? I am new to php so i am worried that if i add this into the index it will not work and  will end up messing it all up.

Thank you

Hi Meme, Have a look at Deano's block tool. This allows you to transfer blocks from one page to another. There are some blocks it cannot transfer but it is worth a look.
