Confused about live camera and RMS

Hi guys, I have been looking for a live chat substitue that would allow me to run it wirthout ray media server. I found live cam but I keep seeing the word ray all over it and just wanted to find out if ray media server is required to run it.

Also, Can i have a ray media server that is outside of my site? I have been reading but there are very few clear points about dolphin and ray media in the documentation,  so I guess I want to know, if I rent a ray media server, can I have my site on my current host which I dont want to move from and tie in the RMS from another hosting source?

Theres word going around about a integration for using Cometchat. Ive seen bits and pieces floating around and knowing the way CC integrates with the other social engines, it'd be easy to do it. If I dont see anything soon, Ill probably do it myself and if/when i do, I'll post it up here for free.
