Ellipsis of overflowing text

Hi,

I've been playing around with the CSS to change some fonts around, but still having a few problems.

1. Can't seem to get text-overflow: ellipsis to work so overfflowing text finishes with "..." (screenshot attached)

2. Can't work out how to change the font of the blog headers in the homepage block.

3. Also would like to know how to change the font in the Quick search block in the homepage.

1. to be a little clearer on the first point, I've had to remove the "white-space: nowrap;" so i can get more than one line of preview of the blog

OK, I bit the bullet and changed the Quick Search fonts in the language string one by one. Anyone have any idea about the hidden text problem?
