Embed Videos From Other Websites

I Was Wondering Is There Any Way To Change The Youtube Embed To Embed All Video Sites Like aol, megavideo, podtech, splashcast, stickam and many more instead of just youtube alone. my members have been asking about it alot and i was wondering if its possible to add a few lines of code to the existing youtube embed to make it able to embed other video sites aswell thanks.

Not right now. I think the only service configured in the HTML Purifier is YouTube. I know it has been requested before, but not sure when or if it will actually get implemented. There may be a way to manually edit the code, but I can assure you it will be more than a "few lines" :)

i really want the ability to add dailymotion, mega video and few other sites videos using the url link. and be able to grab video info, thumbnails, tags etc. same as youtube uploader.

A few have done it. James Tadeo, for example, offers Vimeo embedding on his web site. You may be able to harass him enough for him to give you the needed information on what to do in order to allow third-party embedding.

I will be making Vimeo and other video embedding available for free from my nerd site to members first then to anyone else who wants it. I am waiting on the updated and cleaned up version of Dolphin. A few of my tutorials won't work with the updated patches just because the code has changed.

This month I need to finish a long haul project and after that school's out. I will be offering several mods on a donation basis.

As for my Dolphin 7 book, all my mods will be available as a download. More info about my book will be available at my site in the next month.

Since you have the mod installed, can you tell me if you can choose which sites to allow embedding from?  I really don't want members embedding godtube.com videos on my site... or redtube for that matter.  It would be kinda stupid if you had to keep those 2 sites on the same drop down menu.

yes you can remove redtube and godtube from mod.

i just did it. very simple. just had to remove a file.
