Error When Installing Modules

Got a weird glitch that I'd like figured out. In every case when I install a module -- it fails to install in admin panel. I've had free and paid modules and in every case (after I properly upload to module folder via FTP) when I go to the uninstalled modules -- click the checkbox -- and click install button it gives the failed error msg.

The important part of the fail msg up top reads:

-- -- There are errors in the following MySQL queries:

-- -- Error: Column 'id' cannot be null

Of course, when I've contacting the creators or the mods and give them admin/ftp access they've got things to install. My question is why are they able to install the mods and I cannot. It isn't a difficult installation process and I'm fairly adept in the process.

Any thoughts or insight would be appreciated.

Most recently it was the three modules from ibellodelweb but the same issue occured with the RPX login from sneha, deanos tools, and several others. Again, when I had these developers go in they were able to get it to work. Actually ibellodelweb just emailed me saying it was perhaps a modification to sys_menu_admin and is going to install his for me.

Still, sneha and a couple others were able to install theirs with just ftp access and admin panel access. If it were a db issue wouldn't they have also needed phpmyadmin access???

Again, any insight or thoughts would be appreciated as I would prefer to be able to install my own modules and not be giving full site access to everyone.

Thanks!!!
