Fatal Error uploading large photo

I tried to upload a photo 3.1MB 4368x2912 pixels to one of my albums.  Instead of giving me a friendly message I received

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 17472 bytes) in /home/everyq2/public_html/inc/classes/BxDolImageResize.php on line 435

Is there a way to make this more friendly or to change the limitations?

I found some other posts regarding this.  It appears from this error that my php memory limit is set to 32M.  I have requested it be increased to a minimum of 512M

Is there no way Dolphin can check the size of a file first and nut give such an error but instead specify a file size limit?

It's not allowed upload memory size! it's PHP memory size. Ask your hosting provider increase memory for php

PS: If possible do not write me personally, please try to ask on the forum first
