Friend lists and friend filter

Ok, this is a 2 part question.  Is there a way for main pages of events/groups/photos/videos and so forth to default to only friends?  For example your friend john uploaded a new pic.  So when you click on photos home you only see John's new pic (with some other blocks on the side of the page obviously) then keeping tabs at the top right of the main block for "Public Photos" where the user can browse all public photos.

Pt 2.  Friends lists

This was shown to me by a friend.  On facebook when you login you see a menu item on the left labeled friends.  If you click this a new page appears and you can click on "create new list" at which point you name your list and add friends to it (high school friends, college friends etc...) this allows for easy invites/mass messages across the entire site.  Is this available?  Or is there some mod available?

1) It doesn't recommend because friend content will require checking of every album (for media) or item (for other) for availability. It will load home pages very strong.

2) Users in Dolphin haven't possibility to send mass mails.

Well is there a mod available for mass insite emails?

Also with the friends tab on media homepages, wouldn't it pretty much be the same as a news feed?  Which I already have on my site.
