Having a problem with Registration, Please Help

OK 1st and foremost I cannot get the Captcha image to show no matter what i try with the php.ini file and .htaccess file, it still says error http://netsocial.co/simg/simg.php. So i removed tha captcha bloc from the join page and asked 2 friends to test registration and they got an error that say their IP is banned. I cannot find anywhere that their IP is banned for one, nor can I find anywhere in the admin panel of dolphin to view the IP Bans. I have attached a screenshot of what they are getting, you yourself can take a look at http://netsocial.co/index.php and try and register if you wish I will remove all IP Bans that occur soon as I know how, lol. BTW I am using 7.0.8!

Thanks for the Help

Mike

I don't think the join form will work correctly without the Captcha. I don't know if you noticed but even after you moved the block off it still says "security image" where it should be on the form.

We can get your image working though:

1. Easy fix: Log into admin and go to Settings->Advanced Settings->Variables and un-check "Use GD library for image processing" and then click save at the bottom.

2. More difficult fix: Recompile Apache with the GD image library and TTF fonts.

Try the easy fix first. If that doesn't work try #2, if you're on shared hosting the host will have to do it for you.

OK the captcha shows now and i used option 1. But when they click join now it still says sorry but your ip has been banned beside the ToS check box.

Thank you for all your help

You're welcome. It just gave me the IP blocked message too. I've never even see that message before, it's odd.

Go into admin under Settings->Advanced Settings->Security and look at the third option that says:

"IP list type" and see what it says. It should be 1 or 0.

it says 0. I googled it and i couldnt find nothing for it for dolphin. although i did see some other sites that said when that happens it means registration is disabled, but i dont see nothing in the admin area.

is the only thing in ip tables through csf on whm, which looks like a spammer and im actually pretty sure it is but i do not see any ip bans other than that one on server or in dolphin. Dolphin Ip Blacklist system only has my ip in there under stored logged members.

Well let me congratulate you for using CSF! I'm always preaching to everyone here that if they looked at their logs they would see people all around the world are trying to hack their server 24/7, and without CSF and modsec they can keep trying passwords until they hit one.

Anyway back to your problem. Turn off the Dolphin blacklist system completely and see if it still happens. Start with "Enable DNS block lists" and uncheck everything until you get to the bottom of the security box. Then save and see if it fixed it. I'm almost positive that message has something to do with one of those options.

Haha, yeah I have all the ContfigServer Mods even CXS & ClamAV, changed ports, etc...

I have built many sites and adminned many servers before just never ran into this issue before with Dolphin :(. I am thinking possibly a bug and I agree it has to be within blacklist.

OK you were right narrowed it down to;

spammers zomgbl.spameatingmonkey.net.

In the DNS Blocklist, all the others work fine!

Thank You very much!

It's a test zone.

If you have a look at the info it says: "This zone is guaranteed to block 100% of all IPs because it lists everything (0.0.0.0/0). This list should never be used in production but exists to verify overall functionality of the blacklist servers."

Just search for zomgbl.spameatingmonkey.net and you will find a bunch of people have had this problem.

They should have added a warning to the bottom of the page as well. Somewhere the Admin would actually notice it, instead of only hiding it in 1 of those info buttons.
