Hosting

Hi All,

Who knows a good host for Dolphin which has the following:

  • 1,200 GB disk space
  • 12,000 GB monthly bandwidth

I am at www.hagenhosting.com and they have it all but only problem is allow_url_fopen is disabled and Dolphin needs it to get rid of the footer ads etc.

Anyone know a host like hagenhosting?

Regards,

Hd4real

I've had pretty good luck with these guys: www.alterhosting.com - if you are looking for low-cost plans with unlimited bandwidth.  They got the fopen working for Dolphin in less then a day after I requested it, and have even researched performance issues with Dolphin that turned out to not be their fault.

I use these guys http://www.goodwebhosting.org/hosts/hostmonster. They have unlimited everything for $6.95 a month.

Highly recommend http://www.joombyte.com. They are knowledgeable plus their servers are tuned and configured to work with Dolphin software. Check it out here - http://www.joombyte.com/content/view/51/63/

Hi,

I can second Hostmonster - I started with Host For Web ( Boonex recommend them) but encountered numerous problems so in the end I switched...

Point of order here, when people say things like a host is " tuned and configured to work with Dolphin" or that it is "optimized to work with Dolphin" that provides no useful information at all.  Exactly what is "tuned"?  Does Dolphin work with all hosts or not?  My host alterhosting.com has been pretty good for a low cost service.  Were I to change from them, I would want to know exactly what this mysterious "tuning" means, so I can ensure they don't already have it or it is not something they could easily do.

I have my own reseller server, and dolphin is running smoothly, but I don't say never that it's tuned or something, simple you don't know how software is reacting...

I can give also fair play data transfer and some more. :)

cheers
