Wes, it might help to know that you can create a new member level and add moderator privileges to this. You can then give your moderators this membership level.

I had a similar issues relating to admin privileges for video and image edit rights and this seemed to be the only solution

I get the impression that this is not a workaround, but the new way of doing things.

I personally think that it is a step in the right direction, as previously there was no way to really control who could do what. Now it is possible to create moderators for specific areas of the site, I do not believe this was possible before.

What items are missing? Might be a case of trying to get the missing items added to the permissions. For me the video and Photo editing was missing - a TRAC item has now been created to fix these.

If your moderators need full functions - why not make them admins?

And how do you make them admins?

The easiest way to make a member an admin is to use Deano's Tools mod.

You can also make members into administrators by changing their role number to "3" in their account's entry in the profiles table in your database. You may need to empty your cache, though.
