Moving Servers

Hi,

I am currently on 'Shared Hosting' and looking to move my Dolphin and Members to another server.

The problem is, I am a novice and wanted to know if anyone has the best solution to do this, as I do not want to lose any of it's existing members and I can imagine that this move will not be headache free.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Hi there.

1. you need to move all files from web directory of old server - into new one.

2. dump your DB and upload into new MySQL

3. edit header.inc.php file (new path and new DB info) and /ray/modules/global/inc/header.inc.php

4. set cron jobs and edit path in all files inside periodic folder (except periodic.file)

5. and finally set permissions like in installation manual (look for Permissions)

Hi BigFoot_3000,

There may be software on your server that will allow you to move your dolphin site. If you have CPANEL on both your old hosting account and new hosting account this can be done without a problem.
