Question for BOONEX team..

i am wondering about the trident version of dolphin. i know its a bit too early but i am still curious about it ??

is that gonna be free as dolphin 6 and 7 ?? would my unlimited licence from d7 work with d8 ??

probably Mr. ANDREW BOON can jump in here and give us a definitive answer ??

also i always ask for this function in d7 as most of other members do. i wish to have the ability to upload videos from other sites ( specially dailymotion, metacafe. google videos etc etc) in the video module. i want it to work same as youtube uploader and fetch thumbnails, video description, tags from the original site where the video actually belong to.

Is BOONEX planning to add this function in d7 in near future ??

Trident is an open-source framework for powering web software, such as Dolphin. It will become the base platform and core of Dolphin 8, the next major release, which should happen some time next year. Trident is claimed to have been under constant development for years, but if that's true, then it means that they have had different purposes and code bases for it, scrapping the previous work for some other purpose every other year. BoonEx has been hinting at previews and other information to premium members for some time, but this has yet to happen. They did make a new announcement for premium-only members, but most of the information was re-hashed (but still a good read).

Unless something changes by release date, Dolphin 8 will remain free, and your licenses should continue to function, as they always have.

James Tadeo has been working on a Vimeo embedding option. If he's been able to embed Vimeo, other video hosting websites should work just fine (though this would require some more modifications).

ya i heard that james was trying to make a mod. and i think he has got a beta version of it on his site. but he has done it only for vimeo.

as far as my site is concerened i need dailymotion embeding as i take movies from daily motion.

that will be a great mod if someone can do it.

may be daeno can do it. if he has some time.

i hope boonex plan to do it as part of d7 in future upgrades. i request BOONEX to add it to their future uprades.

if some one wants it please request it here so i can be noticed by boonex please do so as i hae seen many people looking for better embeding option on their site.
