SMTP Mailer Problem Dolphin 7.0.9

I tried to implement the SMTP Mailer module however I got the following message from my host

The SMTP Mailer Test script is producing the following error:

SMTP Error: The following recipients failed: test@unixy.net

There's no log indicating the Mailer Test initiated a connection to the MX of unixy.net. How do we proceed with a fix?

Try setting the "server name or IP address" to "localhost" in the SMTP settings and see if that fixes it.

That is just a shot in the dark but it has worked for some..

 Did you fix it? We're having similar issues in 7.1
