Shortening Dolphin URL links

Im looking for a way to shorten a Dolphin URL link for example

www.mysite.com/m/articles/view/articlename

(as it appears normal)

to

www.mysite/articlename

If there's a way that this can be shortened so that the short version can be 'given out' then it re-directs to the full version when viewed?

Would be a great mod, especially for using d7 as a listing type site.

Any suggestions how to approach this???

We use yourls.org which is a free URL shortening service/script that's fully customisable with your logo/layout etc etc and you specify what directory the links stem from, eg: mysite.com/short/articlename

We installed it via Softaculous which made things very simple. You could then Add a link to this page in your site's navigation menu.

cant figure it out.

using Softaculous to install, it offer to install in a folder on my domain where I have dolphin installed (www.mysite.com/yourls)

It says installed fine but when I open the link it will look for a user in dolphin called yourls and give me the profile not found page...

Do I need to install it on a separate URL to the dolphin script first?

Wil it then work with my dolphin URL?

Thanks - Tim
