can dolphin 7 be set up like this?

Would like to know if it is possible to set up the site so that anyone can view the ads, blogs, and such, but to post you would have to be a paid member? Do I need to purchase a mod to do this?

Membership Levels

I have done endless searches and can not figure out how to add a payment link for membership levels. Am I going to have make my own and add members in manually.

All I want to do is to charge for a membership level. I can see and figure out how to set the levels up but there is nowhere that I can see to add a payment amount to it. Nor any instruction that I could find on how to integrate automatic membership through a paypal link. Can someone guide me on how to do this or point me to an explination of this?

I have to say that this script is by far the best that I have seen and especialy for free. Will probably upgrade once I get the site going. But it is amazing that this is not something that is set up so members can easily set this up and adjust it. It is standard in a lot of other inferior scripts. I have seen multiple posts in this but a lot of it is information from older versions. Maybe I am inputing the wrong information into the search or something but I see a lot of people having this problem. Don't mean to offend anyone in any way just posting my opinion of this one feature which I feel is just about the only draw back of the script.

Well that did help a lot. I didn't see that arrow to the side like the guy in the post. I still don't understand how to add a membership level to it. What is the identity token?

Quote · 18 Jan 2010

you can manually add members to it (administration/members click on a member then set membership level)

or members can purchase memberships levels

that is what I don't understand is how to set it up so that members can purchase membership levels. I see no where to input price or level in the settings.

That is in settings / membership levels.  Once you enable a membership level, the link for pricing will appear.

Thanks so much for the help. I'm sure I can get it now. I think I am going to start a manual on this script and maybe put it up for members to ad to once I get this site up and going.

I know this subject is over a year old, but, I am setting up my store, how do I make the membership levels appear so that someone has to choose one before they can go any further, I just tested it, signed up, it defaulted to promotion.

There is nothing anywhere that reflects the 3 levels I have set up.

Any ideas?
