Hi,
I am wondering if anyone can help me wrt to eAccelerator. I have installed it on my dedicated server. My php is running on dso_module, However when i navigate to my admin ==> Host tools it still show me that eaccelerator status is NO. Only file is green.
Appreciate if anyone can help me.
Thanks, Razz

Its better to run php pages using "suphp" for better security. ---- |
How did you install it?
Have you configured eAccelerator to load with php?
---- |
"suphp" is working in CGI mode - it means that eAccelerator will not work and overall performance will be much slower. It is better to use mod_php for Apache (dso) especially when you are on dedicated server.
Have you enabled eAccelerstor module in php.ini ? Can you post link to your phpinfo page ?
Also there are some other php accelerators which are easier to install...

Hi Alex and Praveenkv,
Thanks for responding. I am using dso_module as PHP handler.
My phpinfo setting can be seen below:

I have also attached the result from phpinfo.txt

Since when has this topic been about the media server? I thought it was about eAccelerator. If you're having connection issues with your media server, make sure of the following:
- Your domain is in the access.dat file.
- Your IP address for the media server is correct.
- Your specified ports are both correct and open.
- The media server is actually running.

Hi sorry,
My apologies for wrong posting. What I meant to say was that when despite my settings as seen attached and verified correct by AlexT, when I go to the TOOLS => HOST TOOLS => CACHE ENGINE, it states that
File : Yes
EAccelerator : No (in red)
Does that mean that my EAccelerator isnt running? Why doesnt it shows green or Yes?
Please advise and apologies for wrong posting.

It means that eAccelerator can not be used as cache engine in Dolphin !
In recent version of eAccelerator caching support from the code is not supported at all, even if you compile it with the special option to enable it.

Hi Alex,
Does that mean that I cannot use EAccelerator in Dolphin 7.04 at all? Are there workaround to it? For e,g, if I were to use an older version of EAccelerator or something?
Thanks for your advise in advance

You can use it and it is working great !
Leave file based caching everywhere - and it will cache it automatically. Here is some benchamarking shows this:
