is the registration by invitation pointless?

Ok gve me a break. I hate reposting the same question but I need an honest answer. I'm sure someone has dealt with the "registration by invitation" feature. How does it work. I checked the box for it, which meant that no one is allowed to actually sign up to my site with an invitation. But how do I invite people and where do I send them to so they can sign up? It's not making any sense to me. Am I overlooking something, I'm sure it's something small.But at this point in time, I'm not seeing it.

And another thing, how am I suppose to get my own brand at the bottom of my music/video player? Oh how simple my questions are. Oh yea, I have an agent now, maybe I should ask them? or maybe not

at the bottom of your page is invite a friend and if I'm not mistakes which this one you can invite people with the registration by invitation only checked!

Ummmm? No..... I didn't understand what the ray mods had anything to do with what I asked. I didn't find anything pertaining to what I was looking for. Unless my video player can't be branded.

As far as the registration, that didn't work either. It did exactly what I thought it would do. I went and clicked registration by invitation only, went and clicked on invite a friend, went to the mail I used and the only thing it did was send me to the URL. NOT understanding!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's cool, I'm just not going to use it.

Try this, open file tellfriend.php

and below function SendTellFriend($iSenderID = 0) find this code: $sLinkAdd .= '?' . $sLinkAdd;

Chang it to: $Link .= '?' . $sLinkAdd;

Now it should work,
with Dol.7.0.x you need to be logged in before you use Invite a friend,
then you shall have a link like this in the email, http://www.YOURDOMAIN.com/?idFriend=MEMBERID

Well pooh I really wish I had read this BEFORE I went and bought the Ultimate referral module. But it doesn't really matter because it was still going to be bought. Thanks! I'm going to try it just because I want to see how it's going to work.
