media server?

I have notice that the Free Ray widgets get the free ray media server, what do us folks that are paying use?  Any advice would be handy.  Much thanks in advance.

I own my own server in a server farm, so I don't need anything to house a site, just to serve media

I know little about media servers, do have to get a domain name for it, or can I serve through an ip number.   Sorry to be a pain in the but, I just know it is better to ask than be sorry later.

the setup only asks for ip's install the RMS in your spot

its pretty straight forward  make sure you know where JRE is installed
