Hello,
swf is already compiled flash application, there's no easy ways to change anything in it. Most likely you need .fla sources for this flash app.
What is the name of this flash chat? Maybe it has some kind of style files attached?

Its the chat that comes with dolphin but am using a black skin for it, but the links to control all options in chat are gray and can not be seen very well.

The best solution is to ask the skin developer to make a changes.
