Don't no what this is, but that url is not working for me.

Doesn't work for me either Killer... I'd say spammer, but he's been around for a long time so I think he just plain old blocked the entire world from that site...

Oh well... And I wanted to visit awhile... Guess we'll all just have to go to happyland.com and get to know each other...

(**If that's a real site I'll die laughing!)
killerhaai
well I have reported this It has nothing to do with Dolphin at all.
deano92964
LOL happyland.com is not a real site, but it does resolve and redirect to superpages

The url is valid, but I would say it is spam...it is for some sort of competing "social networking" software.

Something like Ning? I am concerned about these kinds of programs. Not that Dolphin isn't better, but opportunities could dry up as potential customers use this kind of thing, instead of server-based programs.
cbassthefish
One of the down sides of services like Ning is that your social network is resident on the same domain as everyone elses social network. This probably is not good from a search engine point of view, unless google et al have programed their software to make allowances for Ning, as they probably do for Facebook. I have never used Ning and so I am not sure about the bespoke customisation aspects of Ning but I imagine you will never be in complete control of 'all' aspects of your social network code. see more Media server aspects of Ning I am also unsure of.

You guys shouldn't call this spam.... after all, this guy has been a member for almost 2 years... so he wouldn't be posting spam... would he? One of the members of this site will have veins popping out all over their head, from you guys calling this spam.
tomakali
houston, everyone knows(remembers) you as the one with a bad-temper on the D7 bugs,Boonex moderation,Forum discipline,General Blogging common sense etc.
Still, only few can see your dedication to Boonex.
Even though you dont OWN boonex, you pretend to be for the benefit of Boonex and its members. Thats the Good nature of you. sameway, i love Dolphin and i want it to be the best of all the remaining 'Best'

knowing tomakali's blogs posts in the past, id say this isnt spam, this young lad is always trying to get new features in dolphin, like xbox chat and so on, so there must be something on this socialgo thing that he likes and wants on dolphin.

What this is i think is his subtle way of pointing boonex to look at new modern features that us old people dont have a clue exists :-)

tyke,
Boonex has best people who can deliver best out of everything, still everyone can send Rocket to moon. whereas only one had landed on Mars. Thats how the difference of Dolphin should be...

LOL, i had a look at the video for this ning like place. i wonder if tomakali point is " user friendly navigation, built in widgets, powerful but simple for the user and so on.

This shouldn't be a threat to anybody who has a dolphin, why would anybody want one of these ning type sites beyond the bored housewife talking about knitting patterns, but it is well put together, and one does wish at times that the wonderful Dolphin had the same sort of intuitive setup.

Or is that just me.

Social Go is a real website, I googled it. It looks like another site like Ning where your website is on the same domain as everyone else's. They do have the option to pay to have your own domain though.

SocialGO offers 2 premium levels of service. SocialGO Premium for only $24.99 per month gives you all our great features, loads of bandwidth and storage and the ability to use your own domain name. Start a 30 day FREE Premium Trial Now.

If you want us to do that hard work for you, check out see more the SocialGO Concierge Service where we design, setup and configure your network for you for $149.99 per month.
Learn more about concierge.

It's not very alluring to me because it isn't completely customizable from what I can see.
tomakali
forget about what it is, just find what it has and Dolphin doesnt....

Wow 149 a month... these sites make me laugh, who in their right mind is going to pay that, you could get a dedicated site and server for that sort of money, (less i bet)

The real point to this blog i think is the idea's behind it. some neat little idea's, like turning all your members blogs into a site magazine, stuff like that, see more maybe something for Dolphin 21.6 perhaps. :-)

This one has been around for a while. Similar to Ning. Might work for those willing to build business for someone else. ;)

Boonex, Is there anyway that i can dream about Dolphin turning out to be a "neutral product" like Joomla and not restricted to "social network"
termaksenior
Had a look at SocialGo. I still think Dolphin is much better.
tomakali
Better in layout, functionality, ease of use.
Widgets?
Module sharing?
tomakali
This is all about "addons" like widgets etc.
Think Joomla, You have tons of extensions whereas D7 has very few. Joomla is more complicated than any Dolphin versions. still it can be modified to anything just by adding extensions.
say, i install joomla and browse the extensions and pick 15 "music" related extensions and in a week i own a music community. where as Dolphin's output is restricted to "Social community" and theres no way you can focus it as "something see more else"(a school website, a retail store" etc. I would like D8 or posedion to directly challenge Joomla. Hope, Boonex will listen!!!

Below is the legacy version of the Boonex site, maintained for Dolphin.Pro 7.x support.
The new Dolphin solution is powered by UNA Community Management System.
