In reply to Thumbs Voting

Some of you guys are missing the point. I don't think anyone here is so fragile that they can't deal with criticism.

I think that all LightWolf is asking here, is to just put an end to drive by negs. It is one thing to present an opposing viewpoint, but to go around mindlessly slapping a neg on every post in sight, without ever taking the time to present even the slightest argument, is completely useless. I am guilty myself of an occassional driveby, especially on spam posts, but I have never see more done it without at least reading the post first. For those of you that aren't aware of it, you can click on the 'positive votes' and 'negative votes' links in the upper left part of every blog page and investigate this driveby phenomena yourselves. There's a pattern... trust me.

Personally, I don't think there's anything wrong with having a voting system on blog posts, but it needs to be fair. I think this one is fixable, but it's not going to get fixed by ignoring it or just telling people not to get mad over negative votes. Negative votes isn't really what this is about. The sooner everybody recognizes that, the sooner we can go about getting it fixed.

Thank you Houston, you said it well my friend. All I'm asking is to have a new way of voting added, not removed. I could just write a blog asking how others are doing and get negative votes..lol Is this how adults act?

great observation, and that is exactly what i have been saying the entire time as well. yes lightwolf, you are correct, the voting system as it is, is not really that bad, its the anonymous votes that are a killer.

i for one have voted negative on some posts, because i didnt believe in what they were saying, and i would post that i disagreed and post my neg vote. then there were other times, that i would post and stay neutral, but voice my opinion, and that is exactly what it was in most cases, see more an opinion.

kudos houston, and lightwolf.

Regards,
DosDawg
