CALTRADE
I don't really have any passionate opinions about this - just a few questions and possible implications:

1. True, there are 50,000 or so members on this forum- but I think only about 100 or so are active posters. What will happen to the people who seldom post? - will they bother to pay the 5 bucks? Will that make the active community here even smaller?

2. The $20 a month premium membership includes access to Trac. Presumably, for business that are doing OK, this fee will be no big deal, see more but why should user status have with posting a technical issue? A bug is a bug. Right now, the Trac system is highly dysfunctional. Members with this access can post even obscure features they want, for the rest of the members, it is a process of "bumping" the post in the hopes that it will get the attention of Boonex staff. They sometimes seem to "cherry pick" the issues they like and ignor the others.

3. It may be true that for people selling mods, $20 a month should be no big deal, but what if it is? It is what is called a "barrier to entry" - not a big barrier, but a barrier. What will happen to low cost mods? i.e. some of those $10 buck little utilities made in India? Maybe Boonex should consider a transaction fee instead - i.e. take 5 or 10 percent of approved mods - just a thought. What about free mods? Could people use the store download facility to distribute free mods?

When are these changes planned - does anyone know?
