Hi!

I'm wondering if your mod allow to copy a Navigation Menu block to any page on the Page Builder. For example if we want to have the 'ArticlesPopular' Block not as a tab but as a PHP Block inside of the Articles Home Page.

No. Sorry. Not possible for the tools to do that.

I want to see if you have some advice on how I might proceed with a problem I am having relocating a couple of blocks because I think you may have encountered this issue before but I see only one mention of it in this forum but the issue wasn't really addressed.  Also, I don't think that the issue is related to the functionality of this mod but understanding what is going on might make the mod more usefull.

The problem that I am having is that I need to move both the "public groups" and "public events" blocks from the home page to the account page.  Both of these are green blocks and freely move.  When the account page with moved blocks is displayed everything looks fine--the blocks render correctly.  But if you try to use any of the controls on either of the blocks, which happen to use the BxDolTwigTemplate, the entire block vanishes from the page. 

Is this something that can be addressed through relatively simple modifications to the account page code?

First off. Please to not refer to copying a block as relocating or moving. You should not be doing either. I certainly hope your not making a copy and deleting the original. As doing so may cause problems with dolphin and may prevent future dolphin upgrades. This mod makes a copy. Nothing more.

If a block does not function correctly than it's the result of missing support code that the block needs.

However, its a issue that goes beyond support for this module as it's not a module problem.

You will need to seek help on copying that block and figuring out whats missing in the general dolphin 7 forum matching your version of dolphin. It's a issue that will require looking into which will require time. Time i do not have at the moment.

Just downloaded Block Tool, TY Deano Amazing!!! I was pulling my hair out,(The little I have) before using this tool. TinyMCE was putting dampers on my ability to get Google Adsense up and running. Needless to say, first start to generating income off the site. This tool is easy to download and easy to create HTML blocks that Google ads can post. Didn't need to go into PHP or database to adjust.

Question, Does copying the block prompt for new key?

A good improvement would be to have it check if the Key already exists. Have a Pop up asks if you want to replace existing key if its the same. Not necessary, just nice add on. Also a button here to compile language and clear database cache. All in one stop shop.

 
A key to what?

The tools copys a block by copying a database entry and changing that page name. Nothing more, so it does not prompt for anything. It will be a 100% exact replicate of the original block.

There is no way for the tools to know what you have in the block.

Awhile back I asked for an update to Alpha sorting... I have an additional alpha-sort request, on something that you stated may not be possible?  

Alpha sort existing html blocks when using the edit/delete html block tool.  Every line item in the drop-down menu begins with "Page:" and nothing is sorted.  

The time it takes me to manage hunting for a specific page block to edit among 100+ blocks, is incredibly wasteful and unproductive - plus I get a headache looking though all of them!  You wouldn't want your customers to get headaches now would you .  There must be another way of displaying the blocks so that they're sorted - no??

I'd really appreciate your assistance on coming up with a solution.

I have planned redesigns for that. The html section is not the only one. The php blocks are the same way. which is the one i use most and the reason i already planned design changes to the mod.

I have plans to take that a step further with dual drop downs. One containing only pages then after a page is selected the second drop down will be dynamically loaded with blocks that are on that page.

Don't know when i will get to it tho. Been busy. Have a lot of mods to check and update for the new version of dolphin. To top it off, boonex released this version only a month after the previous one. Releases that quick is way to soon for developers with as many mods as i have to keep up. I hope they slow down the next release.

Is it possible to copy a HTML block to the video upload page? I'm asking because you mentioned small percentage of blocks may be copied. 

EDIT: Sorry, stupid question! I just realized that there is no page in the page builder to copy it over to... duh! 

HTML Blocks can be copied. As long as the video page your targeting is in the page builders.

But you don't need the tools to copy a html block. For a html block all you need to do is copy the source from the html block from one page to the other page. The tool is used for copying blocks you cannot access the source for. html blocks you can see the source so no need for the block tools for those.

I may have a sad buy this module, I need to copy 2 block on my home page (faq and tutorials) and when I run your copy module, it does not copy much, the block are all red (pink) and even if I copy, although it does not work.

So I really wonder what he was going to serve me, it would make him an update, so it really copy blocks.

The product does state in the market entry that the module can only copy blocks of type PHP, RSS and HTML.

It also stated clearly at the bottom that the block copy feature is very limited. You may want to re-read the market entry. http://www.boonex.com/m/Block_Tools

But there is a difference between "can very" and "No" when I traveled pages for copying block, I have 5 max and no useful.

I'm not after your job, but your explanation should say what's possible.

Updated to version 1.1.4.

Added pagination to the blocks design box section. Turns out if there are to many blocks, the post data when saving becomes to large and the save does not work. Adding pagination reduces the number of blocks being submitted during the save which fixes that problem.

is it possible  to change each box (homepage) in different background color 

and also in profile boxes ?

Not with the tools module. It inserts blocks. It cannot manipulate the blocks CSS.

All the blocks share the same CSS. The only way your going to be able to change that is to target the block ID with CSS.

Just a quick question when i assign 0 instead of 1 in the block design box it does remove even the block title or the block name , is there a way to work out to not loose the block title .

Before buying I figure its best to be sure if this can copy the blocks I would like to copy.

Public Sounds
Public Photos
Public Files
News
DB Adverts  (free public plugin)

I am interested in copying them to custom pages.

Can your plugin copy these blocks?

If your referring to the blocks that are on the home page. Than yes. Those 4 can be copied.

As for the News block, you need to be more specific. I need to know the exact name of the block, and the name of the page as it appears in the page builders. Reason is dolphin has more than one block with the word news in it, and i need to know exactly which one.

If your referring to the block named Latest News on the Homepage in the builders from the boonex news module then yes, that can be copied also.

As for this DB Adverts block. I don't know. I have never heard of it and cannot find a module in the market with that name so i cannot test that one.

Using this mod I've duplicate Timeline (friends activity feed)  block from Account page to Friends page. It was green and says that was copied successfully. 

The problem is on Friends page Timeline block shown empty, while on Account - updated well.

Help, please:)

Hi, I have two options for block copying and was wondering if they are possible with your module. 1st option is copying the 'Friends Timeline' which is on the 'Accounts' page, to the Home page.

2nd option would be to copy 'World Map' from the Home page to Account page. Also, 'Quick Search' from Home page to 'Accounts' page.

Unfortunately as stated in the market entry, very few of dolphins blocks can be copied and still work.

Green or red colors are just a guide. Green means the block is of a copyable type, but does not guarantee it will actually work when copied. Red means the block is not of a copyable type and most likely will not work, but there is no guarantee on those either.

If a block is copied, and it does not work, then thats it. It just won't work. The module really does not perform a special magic to make them work, nor can i make them work. The module merely makes a copy of the blocks database entry in the table sys_page_compose. Does not change the blocks code, and actually can't per the nature of how blocks in dolphin work. The blocks that won't work means the blocks are written for the specific page it is on and just won't work on another page.

Sorry, but nothing i can do to make it work.
