Ultimate Articles Support (Modzzz) - part 2

Hi Modzzz, I see you are updating your mods to 7.1 which is great news :-)

Can I make a request for Ultimate Articles? You may have included this already...

When it's updated to 7.1, please make it so it shows in Outline?

All the other site mods that users can upload/post to, are included in Outline, normal articles being admin only is not...

This would be an important feature I think.

I now have this language key that seems broken - see attached image. While viewing an article what I think should be the Author's name shows this.  __author_unit__

How do I fix that. l have recompiled after upgrading the module.

issue with articles for 7.1 .....

even if you choose anonymous >> the publishers name is visible on main articles page etc!

also, anonymous articles to not show as an event on Outline ?

Issues resolved, download again and re-upload the files.

 is it right that article images are small size in blocks but anonymous pics are 2 -3 times larger ?

also, I was wondering is it's possible to show anonymous article submissions on Outline ?

Not presently. That would require core modification to the Wall module to hide the member info in the post. Other articles are shown in Outline though.

For Dolphin 7.1 version, an issue has been fixed with the Archive and adjustments has been made to some layouts. Re-upload all files.

7.1 B2, latest version of articles:

When 'Show member thumbnail in article listings. If turned off, the main article photo will be shown instead:' is unchecked, main article photo retains the size of the member thumbnail, rather than matching the size of the default article photo:

Also, 'Browse Alphabetically' page block spans across the top of the entire Articles Home page, then when clicking Previous month of Next month on the calendar block, the Browse Alphabetically block shows up just above the calendar block like magic. 

**Edit - after further testing, it appears that after clicking a pagination link in any of the blocks, Browse alphabetically will show up above that block - anywhere on the page. I would actually like to remove this block all together, but it's not in the pages builder. 

 Re-upload the files, clear cache and recompile language for Ultimate Articles.

To remove the Alphabet block ....

In modules/modzzz/articles/classes/BxArticlesModule.php :

Find and remove (two occurrences) :

     echo $this->getLetterBlock();

I have followed your instructions and it did not correct the problem with icon size. I even installed a completely fresh version at www.d7tuts.com and am experiencing the same problem.

I have issues with articles and 7.1 ...

If you edit an article the image that should show in blocks does not and returns to the mods standard image ?!

also if too many tags are added to article it messes blocks us leaving space etc and forcing content below image ?!

 Hi Modzzz, I downloaded the latest update but the readme file says it is version 2.09....

Ps. there is no 2.1 folder in the patches sub folder

 Outline integration is included in the Dolphin 7.1 version.

 Please check again. Also I did not mention that the patch is for the Dolphin 7.1 version.

How can I pull articles from a category and display them in a block please?

I have tried to call articles in to a php block but seem to keep failing ...

Yes you can give permission to specific membership levels or allow everyone to write Articles.

You would have to get it customized to add sub-categories.

 can you advise with this please modzzz?

 sub-categories on the form is an improvement for all items, so if I pay you $ 50 sub-categories apply it to the module for all?

or you want me to pay $ 50 for all sites where I want to use the form of articles with the sub categories?

Is the modul working well now? We have a brandnew 7.1 installation and would like to install the mod.

The module is available for Dolphin 7.1 . There is a readme.txt file with installation instructions that you should be able to follow.

Believe that is possible to do by changing TinyMCE options. Sorry don't know where that is. Perhaps:

Hello ... I would like to ask that a 'signature' area is added to articles for authors to add a little information about themselves and a linkback ?    This is a normal feature that I think authors expect to see and be able to use etc ...

Presently, they could just enter the signature details at the beginning of the Article description (in the description block)

How can I put title of article under "description"?

 I am presently considering doing a global facebook comments mod which could be placed on any page instead of adding facebook comments to each individual mod.

 Presently Dolphin does not allow for a block to span across multiple columns.

Hm, I was wandering about  put "Related Articles" to ... BxDolTemplate.php? Am I thinking correct?

The Page rendering functionality from BxDolPageView.php would have to be imported into the mod and modified to adjusted to accomplish this. This is not something I plan to do for the general mod. If you want to get it done as customization specifically for you then PM me.
