Who have joined the corporate masses. How much money do 2 teens actually need?
I had a blackberry. In my quest to get 'up to date' I bought an IPhone. Took me about 5 minutes to realize I should have done my homework first.
So, I dropped my AT&T service, went to Sprint which is offering the new 4G HTC EVO Android phone. All my friends like it. I think it's a cool phone but no one has one so I settled temporarily for an HTC Hero phone that I could exchange later.
The first thing I did was try and send an URL to a photo upload page via email. This capability is required for mwe as I take photos of cars I steal and send them back to the software where they are tagged to the call. A simple thing right?
Wrong!
If I went to a Dolphin site with my Android capable phone, I would not be able to upload an image from my camera phone to the site. When you navigate to the upload page on the site, you will be met with a button that says "Uploads Disabled" in place of the browse button.

I saw a post in here some days ago with someone complaining about this. They thought it was an issue with their site. It's not. It's an issue with two geeks in white tennis shoes that have let the money go to their head. How much money do 2 teens need anyway?

I don't understand this. Are you saying the iPhone or the Android is better? |

What I am saying is Google's Android has disabled the ability to upload images from your phones browser to a website. Each time you try it, you are met with a big grey button that says "Uploads Disabled". They have done it to put restrictions on the amount of bandwidth you use and to try and force you to use sites that they have approved aps for, like facebook.
I swear, sometimes you guys just can't keep up.....

To resolve this upload photo issue, download Opera Mini browser from the Market. This browser will allow you to upload photos from your phone in Android. :)
Reason I know this is because I have a G1 Google phone and it did the same thing. My mobile version of my Dolphin site allows me to upload photos, but couldn't using the standard browser.. Its all fixed with Opera Mini.

Okay some people could read this part wrong..lol I know made me look twice.

LOL. I own an impound towing company. I'm the guy that takes your car when you foolishly park it in a Fire lane or put it somewhere else it's not supposed to be....

That's all fine and dandy if you are already in the browser but you cannot make it the default browser. In my situation, the software from my dispatch program sends a web page link via email. You click the link and it opens the default web application to a web interface so I can upload photos I took with the phone and tag them directly to the call details in dispatch.
Unless you know how to make the default browser for my Android Opera?

In your case of receiving links via email , you need OperaBridge. Also available on the market for free. See how it works here:

I knew there was something about you I didn't like, but didn't know what it was until just now.
My opinions expressed on this site, in no way represent those of Boonex or Boonex employees. |
LOL! HL, I've known what I don't like about you since I got here.
As far as Opera Bridge. Talk about a backyard hack. I got it to work but you have to open the page twice or it doesn't function. Even then, the Opera Mini isn't really designed as an Android app so it kinda sucks anyway.
Screw the Android. I'm going back to the stalwart and getting me another Blackberry Bold. Nothing better than push email and a browser that doesn't have limitations built into it. If I want to watch a movie, I'll do it on my TV thank you very much.
