A Decent Directory??

Has anyone found a solution for a decent directory?  Like a business directory to use?  I really need one and haven't seen any solutions here yet, wondering if anyone has found something.

I think HL found something.

Whatever you find will likely need integration, unless you can persuade someone to write up a module.

I suppose you could integrate Barracuda, eh?

Thank you :)  Also are there any solid directory scripts out there?  If this one doesn't work we still want to build one and then perhaps connect it to our D7 site, we just need a solid directory script and I can't seem to find one.  Any insight would be great.

I'm using phplinkdirectory, which can be pretty good if you mod it heavily.  The front end on this needs work, but most people come from an internal link www.caltrade.com/directory

Hi Caltrade, The phplinkdirectory looks pretty good. Where can I get a copy?

Thanks Magnus! Caltrade, any tips on integrating this?

I would recommend modzzz's business directory that he posted a link for. I'm using it and it's flawless integration into your dolphin site because it's a module, don't have to worry about trying to integrate another php package with dolphin and getting the styles to line up etc.

Your quite right, BUT I prefer the look and feel of the phplinkdirectory as demonstrated on Caltrades website. I would be quite happy with the old D6 'Links' page, But Boonex in there (misguided) wisdom removed it from D7. As for the 'Sites' replacement, am I the only one who dislikes this??

Sterwart - sorry, no tips on integration - I haven't done anything beyond setting a menu item for it.  It uses the "smarty" templating system and people who are good with it can do some amazing things.   I'm not, but it is still probably the best thing I have done - highly SEOed, and I even have it to be "non opt in" - meaning I can enter the record and then have it send a message that will let the listee take editorial control of it.   It is really the best thing I have done, and I should try to get back to it.

I am "modded in" though - would be too complicated to upgrade to their latest version.
