Alert Undefined! Uploading Video

Dolphin 6.1 w/ free Ray 3.5

When uploading certain videos (mostly the videos longer than 1 min), I get an Alert Undefined message.  I am able to get some videos uploaded but they are only 10 to 30 seconds long.  This is what happens....

1. I log in and go to upload video

2. Browse to the location of my video and enter in the discription etc into the Ray form

3. I click upload and the upload completes (8mb file, 3min 30 sec long), takes it about 10 seconds to upload

4. I then see it below with the blue circle going round and round for about 2 minutes or so then boom! ALERT UNDEFINED

I have seen forums on expertzzz.com about this but none of them have a fix for this.  They talk about making sure php.ini and .htaccess are set up correctly (I think mine are) but at time those instructions are hard to understand and usually have not worked.

Does anyone here know if there is a fix to this?

Yes you are right, I have seen that also... If I upload a video smaller then 30 sec the are working. But no longer.

Strange...

Thanks you write it here....

I uploaded a 8MB video that is about 3:30 seconds long, upload went well but as it is loading into the video display area seems like it times out after 60 seconds.....

After searching I found this list of troubleshooting tips...

http://www.boonex.com/trac/ray/wiki/GenRayTShooter#IgetUploadingfileerrorwhenuploadingaudiovideofilesinRayMediaandVideoPlayers

Step #1-3 states...

**You have the correct .htaccess file but it gets overridden by other Apache settings on your server. You should contact your hosting provider in this case.

I talked to my hosting provider and found out that unless I have a dedicated server there is a time out of 60 seconds which is why I get this error on larger video lengths.  There is no way to change this what so ever.

New question now for all your boonex support guys/girls...

Is it possible to just upload the video via FTP to the appropriate directory and have it play the same as if I would have gone through signed in and uploaded as a regular user?

My server is dedicated, and I have setup my php.ini to higher sizes, but the video's from1 minute are not accepted. Yup got the Undefined Alert.  hmmmmm

Once it is uploaded and shows up in the RAY box with the circles going round and round... what is that actually doing?  Is it still uploading or compressing?

Quote · 1 Jul 2008

I think compresssion, 't makes a flash from the original so far i Know.

Talked to my hosting support and they helped me setup the php.ini and made the appropriate changes as stated in boonex troubleshooter but still same issue.

Don't know who else to ask or what else to do.

I am also having this same issue. Im trying to upload video 250mb after taking several minutes to complete, I then have to wait for it to compress, shortly after "undefined" message.

Ive tried uploading through ftp and upload goes through but cannot find it on the site what so ever. Im uploading ray/module/video I upload video there.. I might need to put it in another specfic folder but I have no clue which one...

Any help

Maybe the server is out of resources. Did you check all of your error logs?

2-4 MB video is the max you can upload on a shared hosting

if you have VPS or Dedicated  server then you can upload more

MySQL server has gone away reply

Read the trouble shooter, it helps alot people.... server configurations are different and problem solving is impossible without knowing your full setup.

a few weeks ago a fellow member was having the same MySQL server has gone away issue on a VPS which was resolved by:

.

increasing or commenting out the value for the wait_timeout variable in the my.cnf file (on Linux) or my.ini file (on Windows) - the configuration file for MySQL; then restart MySQL service.
