Hey!

Will this work with the Forum Module? Because I can't find a way to make new categories on that thing :)

Thanks!

To translate Orca Forum you need to translate separate xml files in your forum directory, unfortunately they cannot be translated with this module.

If you need to create new categories you may use phpMyAdmin or similar soft to access your database directly.

Question - I have installed and all works fine in the admin panel in terms of moving around and rearranging my categories, however, the changes will not stick?

I have this installed on 7.0.3 - please advise.

Cheers - Jethro

Just noticed your response Alex - yes, of course I have refreshed my cache. This simply does not work for my site: version 7.0.3

Just installed this on my Boonex 7.0.6 site as per instructions and cleared my cache and it works, as far as, sliding categories around, but it doesn't save them. What gives? I thought you said this was ready for 7.0.6...

Make sure you have made all necessary modifications to your core files, there was function to save them.

 Did you clean Dolphin cache?

This module installed easily and works great in the Admin panel. But I am having the same issue as everyone else, changes do not sick. I am using 7.0.7

I uploaded using filezilla.

Uploaded move-cat and moveinstall

uploaded categories list to - administration/templates/base

uploaded jquery.tablednd_0_5 and table-dnd - inc/js

went to

http://mywebsite/moveinstall.php

once finished I deleted the moveinstall.php file

I made all changes to coding as instructed except part 2 of #5 as I do not want the user categories with the categories.

Cleared cache and public cache

Categories move fine in Admin but do also do not save.

Any help would be appreciated

Still the same.

cache cleaned etc...

It allows me to change in admin but doesnt carry through to the site.

I am using this with the Groups module though which I have upgraded to Modzzz permium groups.

Should that make a difference?

Ive also noticed if I goto phpmyadmin sys_categories each cat in groups has a number for order assigned to it. Even If I change these, it does not change on the site.

Maybe something else going on...!?

Ok, so I double checked all install files, rechecked and everything is in place as should be.

It does...

allow me to change the order of categories, but only in the drop down list when Im creating a listing.

It doesnt change the order of categories on display in a cat page block...

Should it do this? or does the mod only effect the cat drop down list when creating a listing?

It will not work with custom modules, you will need to change certain module files in order to get it to work with it.

After having arranged the categories in the order I desire I'd like to:

* Show them even if they have nothing in them
* That they always stay in the same position. Seems Dolphin moves the categories around based on what category had the latest addition.

Can you have these options available in next update? Would be awesome!

That's something I didn't see. I'll check it.

You are welcome to check my new modules.

Hello,

maybe you can include these changes together with an update for 7.1?

Personally I think it would make it valuable enough for you to put a price on it,

Hello,

are you working on an update for the category slider?

The order of categories are all set to be by highest number and not showing empty categories.

It would be cool with being able to set fixed positions of the categories and show empty categories if you wanted to.

That could be in a paid version of your category slider.
