Chat not working

Now, on to the next issue...

I dont know what's going on, or why I am having so many problems in the past 2 days but now the chat isnt working.

I click on chat, it loads, it connects, then it doesnt show me in the room and Im not able to type.

(Learning from previous mistakes) The only think I have changed in the chat was in the chat admin section. I changed the words and added 2 links to the chat. When I go back to the chat admin, I see these. When I go to the chat through the site, I do not.

What have I fubar'd now?

SashaE, Im not familiar with that test. What is the Connection Parameters for... and is that for BoonEx RMS?

I use Arvixe. They are saying that everything is working fine.

have you upgraded to 7.0.4?

Arvixe RMS server updated too?

I use Arvixe for some sites, old RMS will not work with 7.0.4 as what looks like is happening on your site..

I'm having the same problem.  I'm also with Arvixe.

I use Dolphin 7.0.3 - haven't upgraded.

Arvixe Tech Support is telling me I need to update to 7.0.4 to work with the RMS Server.

Arvixe has updated their RMS server and this will not work with your 7.0.2

I feel the need to call them now and and complain a bit more.

Hello,

If it were an issue with the RMS server, then the chat would have not connected. As it is working for the admin user, it shouldn't be an RMS setting too.

I would suggest you to contact Boonex or try posting the issue at their forums at http://www.boonex.com/unity/forums/

They will know more details on this (if it is a bug) than we do. If they suggest any changes to be made on the server, let us know and we will be happy to do that for you.

According to Arvixe, the RMS is still working on 7.0.2 and no upgrade is needed.
Im at a loss of idea's as to what I should do from this point.

I'm getting the same runaround.

Is there an RMS Server that we can connect to "temporarily" in order to test our sites?

Then I can go hit Arvixe over the head with this.

Chat is now ... "mysteriously"...working.

A little heat on Arvixe and "Poof" - Magic Happens.

Maybe Arvix's RMS was overloaded or not working!

I finally decided to uninstall and re-install the chat. Everything looks normal as an Admin. When I log on to the site and go to Chat, I get this measage: Your current membership (Staff) doesn't allow you to use chat.

How in the world is that possible? lol

The question I should ask is, how to I fix this?

So make it allowed for you type of membership in administration/memb_levels.php

Thanks SashaE, I did that and that corrected that problem Now, on to trying to figure out why the chat still isnt working! Grr
