always backup prior to making drastic changes on your site in the event something like this happens. there is really no way we can answer this inquiry as we have no inkling as to exactly what was changed. you mention 'adding and removing', see what happens here, and i have seen this several times. you can make several changes and all appears to be well, then the next day or when your cache is cleared, you open your site to something you dont recall seeing or doing.
there are several precautions to take when modifying or editing a dolphin script. first and foremost turn off those frigging caching options. that functionality where it may be great on a production environment is your enemy when developing.

well my friend, welcome to Dolphin the Beast
one word of advice backup and backup frequently not just your files, but more importantly your database, there is a kewl utility that will allow remote access to your database mysql workbench, ( just google for it) then setup remote access on your cpanel, each and every time you are making changes of any sort, backup your database. you can backup each file individually so that it doesnt turn into a daunting task just to edit a few lines on two or three files, but the database is most important.
the better suggestion on this would be to setup a development environment, this would be where you do all of your testing and expirements, then if something goes awry, no worries, just reload your dev environment. working on a live environment with no experience with dolphin is like playing Russian Roullette, eventually that bullet is going to get chambered.
