Demo Users Mod Support (Modzzz)

This is the support forum for the Demo Users mod.

Administrators can implement this very handy module on their site to allow visitors to automatically login into the website using Test Users and explore the system and functionality.

When logged in as Administrator, you can visit the Profile page of a member that you want to setup as a Demo User and you will see the option in the Actions block.

I'm not sure what I need to do to set this up. Could someone fill me in please.

I was also lost soon as this was installed. I would kindly suggest more documentation in the readme file how to set this up.  As I continue to learn I would also add documentation explaining that the "demo user" can do anything on the website depending on the membership level you have assigned to the demo user account.  This idea is hinted at on the sales page in the last couple sentences but I was unclear of what restrictions the demo user would have.  I made a new membership level and assigned the account to it.  I also made it where they can not upload their own avatars but it looks like they are able to change between available site avatars which I wish there was a way around.  I have restricted the demo account now where they can view everything but not interact as an "anonymous" as that is what is needed for my site.

Main problem- All of my site members have the option of deleting their profile on their account page if they desire to no longer participate or no longer want their account for any reason.  There is no membership permissions that prevents someone from deleting their account.  Despite what the demo user is intended for there will be some trolls who attempt to put nasty information on the edit profile settings or those who will click to "delete account". Thanks.

For now i've just removed the option for members to delete their account. They can contact me if they want to delete their account.  I think I can remove manage avatar page all together.  It looks like anytime someone updates their profile image in "MegaProfile" that it also reflects on the avatar image.

I have updated the module to prevent users from deleting demo user accounts.

Replace the unregister.php in your dolphin root with the version found in the "Files" folder from this module.
