HTTP 500 Error on Search

Running 7.3.5 and this problem got me stumped.

When searching using the main site search I get a 500 error.

Individual module search functions work fine. It is just the search on the main page.. general site search that has an issue.

Any idea how to resolve this?

The only advice I can give is to look over the .htaccess file carefully.  Have you modified the one supplied by Boonex?

Hi GG,

I tried that but it did not work. I flush caches, emptied temp folder, empties cache folder etc.  Refreshed browser and tried new browser.

I uploaded the htaccess file from the 7.3.5 package without modification and no joy.

Not sure what else to try.

I just tried it and got a white page.  No error messages from the web server.  I would look in the log files; including php as well as the web server logs and see if you notice anything.  Are you running on Microsoft Web Server?

Dang. I could swear that I replied to this last night.. anyhow..

GG sorry for the late reply.  I am running on LAMP. The weird thing is that search from all the modules work great. It is just the main search that breaks.  I checked logs last night but did not see anything weird.

Turn on PHP error reporting out to the page and see if you see a php error pop up.  If you don't, then turn it back off.
