In the Actions Block I want to hide the Get e-mail button from ordinary members.

I just want admins to be able to see this.

See the attached image.

Thanks!

Admin->Settings->Advanced Settings->Profiles -- check the box for Anonymous mode (no contact information)

Im not sure if the "get email" button will be visable for admin if you check Anonymous mode.

Try searching the forums for issues,  as many things have been answered many times

You have basically three options.

1-If you want certain members to not be able to get another member's email but still want an admin to be able to get it, uncheck "get other members email" in that membership level.  The button will still be there, but the member will get a message that their membership level doesn't allow that action.

2-To remove the button, check the box for Anonymous mode, as noted above.  This will remove the button/function site-wide, including admins.

3-If you choose the Anonymous mode method, for additional security from hackers, delete or rename freemail.php in your root, as suggested in another post:

http://www.boonex.com/unity/forums/#topic/Spammed-Through-Get-E-mail-Exploit.htm

However, the code change in that post was for a previous version of D7, and doesn't seem to apply in 7.0.4.  Perhaps a coder can offer the mod for this version, although it may change again with 7.0.5 or 7.1.

If Dolphin was designed so that unchecking the action in a membership level also removed the button, you'd have what you probably are looking for, and would be a nice feature and actually make functional sense.  But it WOULDN'T remove the hacker exploit.

Someday, Someway.

@124c41Plus - I think you hit the nail on the head. I have the "function" disabled, but the Button still remains.

I did not want to remove the button sitewide- including for Admins :) So, I will leave a button that does not work on the profile ;)

It just seems so many other things you can turn off and on for Admins or members, etc.  Just not "that" button. ;) I'm OK with it, but I'm sure it will generate uncessary help requests on our part ;)

Thanks!
