How many membership types can be created ?

I would like to start a new site and would like to have many diffrent membership levels. Free and paid. For exaple I would like to give a video to some members but not all and other video's to all members ect.. and do the same with other content.

So how many membership types can I make and can I do what I want in the above explanation?

You can create and edit membership levels from Administration > Settings > Membership Levels. If you click on a membership level, you will be presented with a list of permissions you can either enable or disable. If you click on these permissions, even more options appear, such as the ability to limit the number of actions, x hours until the counter resets, along with general availability of the permission.

I don't think you have to worry about how many levels you can set up. You will most likely be able to set up more than you need.

But i think you may misunderstand what membership levels are.

They are for controlling access to features of the site. However it appears based on your message that you want to control access all the way down to the actual content itself which the membership levels will not do.

there is a mod that works great for this application. I am using it myself. With our site, we have some tutorial videos, which everyone will be able to access, but we also have videos that can only be accessed if the user has purchased the Unlimited Streaming membership. I know that it is not permitted to advertise in these forums, so if you would like to know what the mod is, look up page access control mod.

Thank you everyone for your input. It sounds like I can create several membership types.

I run several membership sites and on the platform I currently use I can select what membership level has access to features as well as content for example if I upload a video I can give free access to it even if free members do not have general access to videos and so on. The draw back is I can only have 3 membership levels and for my new site I need several membership levels in a networking type of site. So I am looking for a new solutions and this application my be a solution for me.

I will take a look at the mod mentioned and see it that will do it for me. I plan on setting up a test site so I will see.
