Locations on world map

Although I have updated profiles and cities, some profiles are not showing on the world map.

I checked some of those profiels and city name is spelled correct and ZIP code is also correct.

Why aren't they showing up on the map ?

Can someone please give me advice ?

Possibly the map privacy setting for the member may be set to me only or something. Just a guess.

I have the privacy settings disabled since they are not working properly anyway

Check the database table bx_map_profiles

Look in the allow_view_location_to

Should be set to 3

ID field will match the member ID. Find a match for a member who is not showing on the map and see what allow_view_location_to is set to.

Hm ... found something weird and now I understand why they're not showing up. Look screenshot below :

I think this must have happened after I actived the worldmap again when I decided to install ue30's events mod. Before that, I couldn't use the map because it was useless.

I re-installed the worldmap mod a week ago and updated profiles and and cities, but obviously that didn't work as it should.

Any ideas ??

What are you refering to thats weird?

Well, in a lot of fields there's no longitude or lattitude and updating obviously failed (last field = set to 1) although the cities are mentioned in the profiles on the site.

I think I can solve the problem but it's going to take a lot of time. If I save all profiles one by one which did not update in the worldmap, it seems to work.

Interesting. When i have time i will have to look into that. The update profiles when the world map was installed i would think would have taken care of that.

It obviously doesn't. This sucks ... and luckily I 'only' have 158 members at this moment. But it still takes a lot of time to save all those profiles again one by one :-(

There is an explanation for that I think. I changed the predefined values for countries into states and I disabled the worldmap but left the mod installed.

A week ago, I installed UE30's events mod which creates states instead of countries. I reset the predefined values for countries to it's original and added the country field to the profiles through the admin panel. Afterwards I enabled the world map again and updated profiles and cities.

When thinking logically I think it's normal that the profiles which did not contain a country field before installing the events mod couldn't be updated in the world map. Those profiles were already saved in the database without a 'country' or 'state' field. Updating them did not make any difference.

So I have to save all those profiles from before the event mod installation again. One by one :-)
