Members can't log in after upgrade to 7.04

I upgraded my Dolphin site to v7.04 and cleared all caches several times. I started to get email from members telling me that they were blocked by their IP address so I deactivated all of the new  7.04 spam functions. Now, I have many users emailing me that when the attempt to login, they get an error message telling them that they have the wrong password. I have manually updated the password for a couple but they still get the wrong password error. Now, the really interesting part is that when I tried logging in with some of the usernames and passwords of those that got the wrong password message, I was able to log into their accounts without any problem!

Could this somehow be related to the new antispam functions in 7.04? As I said, I deactivated them in the admin panel and cleared all site caches many times with no luck. I'm stumped. Half my users can log in with no problem, and half get the wrong password message. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks.

Start by turning off all caching options. D7.0.4 now has caching options in both admin->settings-Advanced settings->Other and in admin->settings-Advanced settings->Templates.

Make sure they are all off. Then MANUALLY clear the cache folders. Leave the caching options off for a while.

As for the spam functions. One of them is a test setup and must not be enabled. zomgbl.spameatingmonkey.net. must remain deactivated.

I have the same problem in 7.03 (I did not upgrade yet). Checked the settings and caching options are enabled. Is that the problem ? In that case, do I have to disable all the cache options (5 in both Other and Templates) ? And if so, could someone explain why these cachings are being enabled ?

Checked the settings and caching options are enabled. Is that the problem ?You won't know until you try disabling them.

The caching options are there to improve dolphins speed.

A lot of problems with dolphin are cache related. So test and find out if the caching is your problem. Turn them all off, then manually empty the cache folders. If the problem goes away you will know.
