Ray Chat - Insert Message Into Database

I am interested in monitoring the activity in my chat rooms.

I would like to save the messages for 60 days.

It seems logical that the chat room messages would be

recorded in the RayChatMessages table.  However, this table

is blank.  Any thoughts?

I am using AdFree Chat.  It looks like the code for inserting

new messages is located in ray/modules/chat/inc/actions.inc.php

I am not a programmer and would appreciate some input here.

Thanks,

lingo

P.S. - had difficulty posting this, told me I wasn't logged in.

I don't think it posted already.  So, I'm posting again

Any insights into how the msgs are inserted into the db will help...

If cron jobs are involved, my hosting company had to do some out-of-the-box thinking to get mine to work.  It doesn't appear that cron job affects it.  However, it would be nice to know if that's not required.

Hello

If your Flash apps are connected to RMS (your own or free one from hosting provider) then all messages are transfered directly via RMS from one chat user to another. In this case database is not used.

If RMS is not used then all chat messages are transfered via database and you may find them in the DB table you've mentioned. But in this case you cannot use audio/video features in Flash Apps.

You may check whether RMS is enabled or not via admin panel -> modules -> flash apps -> settings -> "Use RMS" checkbox.
