Screwed up member menu

I am just getting back to my long neglected site, and trying to clean things up.   Look at any profile on my site.  For example:

See right after the username and that tiny thumbnail at the top - I still have no idea how to manage that member menu.  The member menu in the builders area only shows two items in the active area "member block" and "status message".   How do I get rid of items there?  I especially want to get rid of that "store" stuff.  I do not have the store installed, and when I try to install it so I can uninstall it I get an error message - it won't install, but I don't want it anyway - I just want to get rid of that junk.   Can anyone help?

Any chance you removed a top level menu item that had sub items?

Maybe the sub items are still 'active' and thats why you see them in the page sub menu area.

I don't think so, but if you remove a top level item, the subitems also get pulled to the inactive area, don't they?  I really have never done anything with the member menu.
