Hello,
since a while I have server overload and I just saw in my site spy that there is a guest jumping the entirte day from profile to profile, probably downloading the info. It goes on minute per minute day by day.
Does anyone know how to stop that?
And the profiles are actually not visible to guests, neither the browse page

I checked, but I see no IP of guest Diddy is not greedy and has time. Dolphin is cool and its not just mine :-) |
My site is not accessible to guests and profiles can not be viewed by guests. I see in the spy though that I have one guest viewing since weeks one profile after the next. It takes him a minute for 3-6 profiles.
Just now it was quiet for an hour and all start over again. Those people should be tortured!
Where can I see the IP of guests in 7.0.4?

Did you try contacting your host and see if they can find the IP going by the date of entry to your site? Then you can ban the IP through your Cpanel. You possess an intuitive intelligence so powerful it can help you heal, and relieve stress. |

I should do that, but somehow I still have something ongoing with them until this is not set I don't want to ask them anything cos I might leave to another host!
I should though :-)
Thanks LW

You could look IP addresses in the database in the table sys_ip_members_visits if you have D7.0.3 or up.
Also the latest version of my Deanos Tools logs IP addresses. You can turn on the guest logging option and then it will log every visit. The guest logging option should not be left on for extended periods. It will slow down the site.
My logger will also allow you to do a reverse DNS lookup of the IP address to see what ISP it belongs to.
Some of them just might be google bot crawling the site.

@deano I checked all ips cos not much visitors on that site.
I could place some to google.
I send you a pm if its ok with you to login and just check the spy, cos somehow it seems strange to me that google is crawling like that going around the site like that.
I will take out the robot.txt for a while to see ifts google :-)

@deano
I have upgraded my site to 7.0.4 and installed your Deanos Tools. I did show guests but there is no record shown of that guest.
I do belief this person is spydering my site.

I found the cause for my server overload it were the 3 stats programs running in the background I did disable them and killed the process and now it seems to be fine.
Since I have google analytics that should be enough or did I make a mistake here?
