States?

I need a way to add a field "state/province" sitewide.  To join, edit, profile, some mods, etc.  Is there an easy way to do this?

as far as know this is currently impossible as adding field to join form not working correctly and there is not native support for states and provinces in dolphin yet - there is not even any entry in trac for this so far. I need use states/regions too on my site as this is must in my country - all people search throught regions so I cant use dolphin until this will be worked out :-( ... so can lay down on the beach for at least 6 months ...
