Ubuntu 10.04 installation issues

Hi,

I am running Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid Lynx) server with LAMP configured on my laptop. I have successfully deployed Joomla, Elgg, SocialEngine, etc. for an evaluation. I now need to install D7 and get it up and running....

My problem is that D7 installation goes through perfectly fine, all the way to the end. However, once I delete the install folder, it does not give me the frontpage for the network - I simple get an "Error 324 (net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE): Unknown error." from Apache.

Here are a few details about the configuration:

Software: Ubuntu 10.04 (x86_64) + Apache2 +PHP 5.3.2 +mySQL 5.1

Local URL: localhost/dolphin

I would really appreciate it if someone could help me resolve this issue.

Regards,

Vish.

When you install multiple apps on the same server, you run into a more complicated situation. I would simplify by removing your other web apps, and go back to the default apache screen (It Works!), then do a fresh install into the ROOT directory not a sub-directory. You will make your life easier for testing purposes.

Otherwise you need to do a lot of work to configure Apache sites-available and site-enabled.

Are you using Google Chrome as your browser?  If so try this:

Thanks to the both of you for your help. I did as you suggested, and re-tried installing D7 on a web server with no other sites. To make a long story short, it worked :-)

Thanks,

Vish.
